Hometown Heroes: Western MD Meal Response Team

A Facebook Group entitled Western MD Meal Response Team launched with local community members led by Lisa Wolford, a Cumberland resident.

Stepping up for your neighbors

The group has been working since at least last week with many volunteers to deliver items of need to over 50 local families. Lisa is also distributing up-to-date information on COVID-19 and the importance of social distancing, as well as keeping everyone in the Facebook Group up-to-date on any updates from the Allegany County Health Department. Although the current climate is changing, she is going to continue to work, as long as it is safe for she and her staff to continue this effort, for the duration of school closures.

All of the information regarding how to request food if you or someone you know is in need and how to donate and join the effort is on the Facebook Group Page. If anyone is interested in donating in any way, please see below.
